Just a thought

This is my first time watching the video, and I just noticed a few things.

1. Do you think the reason why she decided to "look the other way" was more a cultural influence, socioeconomic class, or just pain?

2. I would like to think that the first time you notice your significant other "comfy" with another person, it's something you would address adamantly until you were both clear. In the video, it seems like she wanted it to seem as if she just "didn't see anything." I wonder why.

3. At the end, so what happens? She tries to fix her face to do what, welcome him home? To hide the fact that she knows something after he didn't come home all night? Do you think she tries to say something then?

4. The other woman's man seemed ticked off the entire movie too, which leads me to believe that it's either a pride thing, emotionally paining, or cultural thing. Why would he not say something either? Do people just not talk? Weird.

It's a beautiful song, but I really feel as if I was watching a short film and was left hanging.

  1. aye that was my first view, pretty cool

    1. From tha look on her face and her movement, I'd say she was 1st shocked, 2nd didn't know how to respond in the moment, 3rd embarassed. Also, women of eastern cultures are more docile & submissive than in western cultures. You are american and used to always having freedom of speech and position close to equal to that of men in this society, plus you're black so you have that natural sass and boldness to speak yo mind bc it's in ur culture. That woman is Indian or Arabic and women in alot of eastern societies are not equal to men by any means. She wouldn't dare speak out against her man publicly at a party and risk embarassing him infront of people; realistically she'd probably be beaten depending on what kinda guy he is & he wouldn't get in trouble for it.

    2. Women in love do strange things, sometimes they don't wanna risk loosing the guy bc she just loves him that much even if he's an ass head. She might be afraid of confrontation bc he might leave her or beat her. Sometimes ppl ignore the little signs & wait until they become huge b4 they do anything.

    3. By the way she cleaned up her face, she doesn't intend to say anything at all. She's gonna pretend for a while.

    4. Yeah he looks annoyed but, I don't think the other guy had enough evidence to say or do anything from what we saw in the vid. To me he didn't pick up on as much as the woman did.

those were good critical thinking questions, i like to analyse things :)
